'Peace is a Haiku Song' is a collaborative project between Sonia Sanchez,
the city of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and the First Person Arts festival. The
project will engage the global community in an exploration of the haiku as a vehicle
for peace and urban transformation.

The project will launch at the First Person Arts Festival in November 2011
where Sonia Sanchez will debut a new haiku and invite people to contribute to a
global haiku sequence online. The project will culminate in a new Philadelphia
mural honoring Sonia Sanchez.
