Who are you really—at home, in the office, twenty feet in the air?

 

For the 2016 FringeArts Festival, the acrobats of Tangle Movement Arts explore how far we see beneath the surface of daily life. A Tinder date turns into a rocky relationship. A young professional works out which face to show the world. And an advice columnist scrambles to hide her own personal crisis. In this new circus-theater show, Tangle's six-woman cast uses trapeze and aerial silks to explore life's hidden currents and the forces that pull us together.

 

Tangle Movement Arts is a circus arts company with a contemporary twist, whose performances mix traditional circus (trapeze, acrobatics) with dance, theater, and live music to tell a multidimensional stories. Based in Philadelphia, Tangle has been a FringeArts Festival favorite since its inception in 2011. Tangle's work is devised collaboratively by its all-female ensemble, and reflects individuals of diverse identities, with an emphasis on queer and female experiences. Philadelphia Weekly describes Tangle as "circus-style acrobatics with a smart theatrical spin."
